Marcela Hernández - Founder & CEO

Passionate about simple and natural beauty, Mother, Designer, Art Director, Explorer of History, Astrology, and new ways of living. I was born in Viña del Mar and lived next to the ocean. That scenario would shape my senses, thoughts, and interests. Growing up I embraced beauty, music, and the connection with the world. That lead me to study English and French which bridge me to different cultures. My curiosity expanded into other areas and I organically ended up focusing on recreating items, embellishing spaces, and reshaping and remaking items. I was truly connected to design and natural fibers, which lead me to create Colomba in 1982.
My intention is to create sensorial experiences and connections, that make our customers feel identified with themselves.

An advocate of joy and beauty, Mother of Julian, Designer, Art Director, and Music lover. Originally from Santiago, Chile, lived in LA for almost 10 years, and worked as a designer, stylist, and art director for companies with sustainable practices such as Reformation, Boyish, and my own designs with Colomba. Now I’m living in Seattle expanding Colomba along with my mother from our showroom/store in Madison Park.

I love to spend time with my family, friends and be surrounded by nature, especially close to the ocean.

With Colomba, I intend to create bridges, appreciate artisan crafts, and be connected to my true essence. Guide customers to embellish their spaces with our linens and also give styling clothing advice from our staple pieces that will make clients look and feel good.
